ARK is currently seeking donations of foldable dog pens/crates. We are more than happy to accept used pens/crates. If you have any in your home that you are not using, please send them to Osaka ARK. They will be put to good use!

We are currently seeking a new office staff member for our shelter in Osaka.
We will be giving priority to people who have office and customer service experience as well as English ability. If you are interested then we look forward to hearing from you!

FOREVER HOME group exhibition

HaNNa GaLLERY, situated in Harajuku department store Laforet, is hosting a charity art event "Forever Home" from October 29th to November 30.
"Forever Home" is an event for homeless pets seeking new families, where they will be loved and cared for for the rest of their lives.

T-shirts designed by young and upcoming designers in America will be exhibited and sold, and proceeds will be donated to ARK.

The "Forever Home" exhibition is an ongoing event to support Animal Refuge Kansai.

It will be held at our future sanctuary in Sasayama city of Hyogo prefecture.
We will be welcoming you with roasted beef and lamb marinated with Ms Oliver's special sauce, and there also will be Ms Oliver's special dip and salad along with yakisoba (stir fried noodles) made by our talented staff.
Ex-ARK dogs, their owners, dogs that are not from ARK and their owners, everyone is totally welcome.

Elizabeth Oliver Awarded an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth

Rescue of Safe and Sound in Fukushima
News: ARK is proud to announce that Elizabeth Oliver has been awarded an MBE in the 2012 Birthday Honours List, by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, in recognition of her services to animal welfare and civil society in Japan. The Honours List is published in the London Gazette and other UK national newspapers.


MBE stands for Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire [wikipedia] and is awarded to individuals by the Queen for their service to the country and community. The investiture ceremony took place at Buckingham Palace, London, on the 25th October, 2012.


Elizabeth Oliver writes:

I am indeed honoured by this award from the Queen. But it is an award to be shared by all of you who have supported ARK over the past 20 years; our members, donors, sponsors, volunteers and our hard-working staff who take care of the animals on a daily basis. Thank you all. And last but not least a tribute to the animals who have enriched our lives, with their love and trust in us. I hope that animal welfare in Japan will continue to expand for the benefit of animals for many more years to come.

TOHOKU-PACIFIC QUAKE ANIMALS

Our priority now is on housing the remaining 16 dogs from the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, many of whom have owners, but who are unable to take them back. The area (land) where the Earthquake dogs are now housed, has been rented for many years but now due to changing circumstances of the owners, is due to be returned to them. That means there is some urgency in building new kennels for them in Sasayama. Your continuing support is appreciated.
