As we announced previously, due to internal re-organization, our Tokyo ARK office has been temporarily closed for a month. During this period we have had meetings with foster families and with volunteers to find out what their concerns are, what their hopes are, and how we can move forward together from now on. We thank them for their input and value their opinions. We are planning to hold one re-homing event in April (please watch our homepage for date and details) and from May we will hold regular re-homing events at, at least, two venues per month. From May we will have a full-time staff member at Tokyo ARK to organize these, as well as to take responsibility for animal care, animal intake and re-homing. We have also been able to meet the owners of different venues who have supported us in the past. We would like to thank them especially and look forward to their support from now on.
Thank you all for your support of our work, caring for homeless animals in need.
| Our priority now is on housing the remaining 16 dogs from the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, many of whom have owners, but who are unable to take them back. The area (land) where the Earthquake dogs are now housed, has been rented for many years but now due to changing circumstances of the owners, is due to be returned to them. That means there is some urgency in building new kennels for them in Sasayama. Your continuing support is appreciated. | |||
