【Donations Needed】Cat Food

Donations of cat food are needed!

ARK has rescued many kittens and cats. Currently, Tokyo ARK is low in supply of food for the animals. For the animals that are currently under our care, we must provide them with the nutrients and enough food until they are rehomed!

News: ARK is proud to announce that Elizabeth Oliver has been awarded an MBE in the 2012 Birthday Honours List, by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, in recognition of her services to animal welfare and civil society in Japan. The Honours List is published in the London Gazette and other UK national newspapers.

MBE stands for Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire [wikipedia] and is awarded to individuals by the Queen for their service to the country and community. The investiture ceremony took place at Buckingham Palace, London, on the 25th October, 2012.

Elizabeth Oliver writes:

I am indeed honoured by this award from the Queen. But it is an award to be shared by all of you who have supported ARK over the past 20 years; our members, donors, sponsors, volunteers and our hard-working staff who take care of the animals on a daily basis. Thank you all. And last but not least a tribute to the animals who have enriched our lives, with their love and trust in us. I hope that animal welfare in Japan will continue to expand for the benefit of animals for many more years to come.

Protest: please help us close down this breeder. Why is a man who has a criminal record for the maltreatment of animals and who has contravened the Japanese Rabies law still able to carry on his cruel practices and to continue breeding and selling dogs? TOHOKU-PACIFIC QUAKE ANIMALS

Our priority now is on housing the remaining 16 dogs from the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, many of whom have owners, but who are unable to take them back. The area (land) where the Earthquake dogs are now housed, has been rented for many years but now due to changing circumstances of the owners, is due to be returned to them. That means there is some urgency in building new kennels for them in Sasayama. Your continuing support is appreciated.
